Faith Communities Call for Fossil Fuel Phase OutOn Tuesday 17 September, multi-faith leaders from across the country gathered at Cathedrals and places of worship to launch a display of public banners marking the national Week of Action: “Faiths for Climate Justice” led by the Australian Religious Response to Climate Change (ARRCC). The Perth Multi-Faith Banner Launch and Blessing took place outside St Mary's Cathedral in the
city. Rev Hollis Wilson, Minister at Uniting Church in the City, Wesley, spoke at the event alongside representatives from the Anglican, Catholic, Quaker and Buddhist faith traditions. Rev Ken Devereux, retired Uniting Church minister, and Vice-President of ARRCC WA helped coordinate the event.

Global Vigil for Al MakhrourThe Palestinian Christians in Australia WA and the UCWA Social Justice Commission are co-hosting an inter-faith vigil to pray for the safety and restoration of the Kisiya family, who have been forcibly evicted from their home and farm near Bethlehem. They are the last of the Palestinian Christians in that valley which is now being illegally occupied by settlers. The vigil will be held on Saturday 28 September, 5.00pm to 6.00pm at Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Catholic Church, 165 Central Ave, Mount Lawley. Street parking available.
