WA Day of Prayer with the Holy Land

Following a Presbytery resolution in May 2024, the Social Justice Commission of the Uniting Church in WA invites congregations, schools and agencies to choose a day in November to pray with the people of the Holy Land including our Palestinian-Christian sisters and brothers.

These liturgical resources are based on the Revised Common Lectionary readings for 17 November, the 26th Sunday after Pentecost. The Social Justice Commission have prepared these resources in collaboration with our neighbours, the Palestinian Christians in Australia (WA).

“Inspired by the mystery of God’s love for all, the mystery of God’s divine presence in the history of all peoples and, in a particular way, in the history of our country, we proclaim our word based on our Christian faith and our sense of Palestinian belonging – a word of faith, hope and love." Equal Voices WA and Pride WA will be hosting the Perth Pride Choir to Sing For Joy at St George’s Cathedral, Perth for our second ecumenical PrideFEST event.

Sing for Joy: an evening of celebration will be on Saturday 9 November, starting at 5.30pm.

Kickstart Your Advent and Christmas Worship Planning!

The Uniting Centre for Education and Formation (UCEF) invites you to a special workshop on Wednesday 6 November, from 9.30am to 1.30pm at Maylands-Mt Lawley Uniting Church. This session is the perfect opportunity to refresh your worship ideas and gather new inspiration for the upcoming Advent and Christmas seasons.
Cost: Individuals $10 | Worship teams of 3 or more: $25
This event is open to ministers, pastors, lay preachers, ministry candidates (Phase 2 and Phase 3), Period of Discernment candidates, and worship teams.

Have any of your congregation details changed recently?

There is an online Congregation and Faith Community Membership Update Form which you can use anytime there are changes to the details at your Congregation or Faith Community. This includes when there are changes to your Church Council Members, elected members to Presbytery, and any change in contact details for the Congregation or Faith Community itself.

Kristallnacht Commemoration - The Council of Christians and Jews WA annual remembrance of ‘The Night of Broken Glass’ will be held at 2.30pm Sunday 10 November in the Government House Ballroom in the presence of the Governor of Western Australia. The Good Book Clubs - Maylands Mt Lawley Uniting Church are resuming their Good Book Clubs this month with Bible Studies on the gospel of John. Both a morning and an evening group meet fortnightly on alternate Thursday mornings and evenings. Service of Thanksgiving Rev John Phillipson - there will be a Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Rev John Phillipson on Saturday 26 October, 10.00am at Willetton Uniting Church, 16 Herald Ave, Willetton.
