Most kids are exposed to sports like baseball, soccer, and basketball at very young ages, but many are not immediately introduced to motorsports on a regular basis. Motorsports, however, are excellent ways for kids to both have fun and build character while competing against peers and mastering their skills. Motorsports are also contactless, meaning they don't involve any violence in the same way other athletes like MMA fighters and football players experience. While motorsports aren’t as widely discussed as other sports in many areas, there are actually a lot of them out there for you and your kids to experience and test out. There are also many ways to introduce children to motorsports and possibly find their lifelong hobby or career. Let’s take a look at some methods of introducing kids to motorsports.

2022 Solo Nats: Run Days & Reg!

JUNE 7, 2022 —  The 2022 Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour has been a wild one in that it has been packed with fantastic events and nary a COVID cancellation – it was very much a season of what we hope is the permanent “new normal.” And now, that “normal” extends into the championship season, with the announcement of run days and registration dates for the Sept. 6-9, 2022, Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships at Lincoln Airpark in Lincoln, NE.

Paying Retail is for Suckers: Track Night's $25 June Discount

JUNE 16, 2022 — We suck at math, but even we know that with the price of gas sitting 50% higher than it was a year ago, getting to the track is rough. Luckily, since we’re horrible at math and we like our friends, we’ve cracked open a cool can of $25 event discounts for use when you register in June for SCCA TNiA events taking place in June, July, and August. Actually, we cracked that can half a month ago, so this is a reminder that you’ve got less than 15 days!

Recapturing AX Passion with CAM

JUNE10, 2022 — Twelve years. It had been 12 years since I’d last autocrossed, and I felt the desire to get back on the pavement. Prior to that, I had been autocrossing for roughly seven years with various automotive platforms. I’d run everything from an STX Subaru 2.5RS to a gutted front-wheel-drive Eagle Talon on Kumho tires in SM. While the STX car was competitive in class and on PAX in my local Indiana Region, the vehicle was a co-drive situation and not always available. I needed another solution.

Turning the Knob: Rebound Damper Tweaks

JUNE 13, 2022 — If you have aftermarket dampers on your performance vehicle, you may have the ability to adjust them in some form or fashion. Certain dampers allow the simultaneous adjustment of compression and rebound, while others go so far as to permit dialing in high- and low-speed damping in both compression and rebound. None of that matters, however, if you don’t know what any of that does, or how much to turn the knob.
