(view April 21st Media Release) TIANS will be sharing content as well as cross-posting from our various partners on our social platforms. We are inviting you to celebrate the Power of Tourism in your own business or community. Perhaps you are planning to host an Open House or other event welcoming the public; maybe your team will be getting out in your region to explore; or there may be a tourism event happening near you. Operators and attractions are also encouraged to “light up” their buildings in green to help reinforce that tourism businesses are open and ready for visitors. If you would kindly tag us in any posts or photos being shared at @VoiceofTourism or send to TIANS@tourism.ca. TIANS wants to help amplify your activities and spread the positive message around the industry. For more information, visit: Tourism Sector Strategic PlanPlans are underway to gather industry input to help shape a new strategic direction for tourism in Nova Scotia. In June of 2022, Premier Houston announced support for the development of a new strategic growth plan for Nova Scotia’s tourism sector. The Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia and Tourism Nova Scotia are co-leading this initiative. After a competitive procurement process, we are pleased to share that MMGY Next Factor has been awarded the contract to develop the strategic plan. Their work began on March 22, 2023, and to date has included initial planning meetings with the project team. Development Process The development process will include extensive engagement in a variety of formats, including interviews, virtual focus groups, in-person sessions and a feedback survey. The project team will be launching a microsite in early May that will serve as the go-to source for information about the strategic planning process, including opportunities for input and key milestones. Initial engagement will take place in May and June, with final delivery of the plan and industry launch taking place this fall. We will share another update when the website is live so you can select how you’d like to participate in this process. Over the coming weeks, we will continue to inform industry and promote opportunities for input. We appreciate you sharing your perspective, and encourage you to complete the Online Feedback Form on the Tourism Sector Strategic Plan Portal. ![]() ![]() TIANS AGM - Registration is Open![]() TIANS Annual General Meeting - You're Invited! The Board and Staff at TIANS look forward to hosting you at the iconic Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa next month.
