Thanksgiving and Commissioning - Fijian National Conference 2026Thanksgiving Worship and Commissioning of the Fremantle UCA Fijian National Conference 2026. On Sunday 12 July there was a special service held at Mount Pleasant Uniting Church as a joint celebration and coming together of the Fijian communities in the Uniting Church in WA, and commissioning of the Fremantle Fijian National Conference.

This year Western Australia will host the UCA Fijian National Conference which is taking place in Fremantle, from 1 to 4 October 2026 with the theme ‘Wind of Change and Hope in the Wilderness’ (Isaiah 43:19). We will be sharing more information on opportunities to support the conference in the coming weeks.

This is the big annual fundraiser to support the work of our partnership with the Black Pearl Network, Papua Indonesia. Pearl of the Orient Pilgrimage to the Philippines - Information Session
Rev Sophia Lizares is leading a pilgrimage to the Philippines, organised by Christian Pilgrimages, from 4 to 18 February 2027. There will be a free information session about the pilgrimage on Thursday 6 August starting at 6.00pm where details of the pilgrimage will be discussed and all questions answered. ICYMI - Broome Uniting Church, 100 Years and More in the Kimberley
In August this year the Broome Uniting Church celebrates 100 years of worship in the current church building. The church is a recognised historic site, set in the pearling district of the town, adjacent to Roebuck Bay.
While the church building reaches the 100 year milestone, the church's presence in Broome goes back 116 years when the Presbyterian Church of WA decided to set up an outpost in the north west town in 1910.
These days Broome Uniting Church is a welcoming place of Sunday worship, and a gathering place during the week through its bustling op shop.
Treasure Market
The next Treasure Market at Maylands Mt Lawley Uniting Church will be held on Saturday 8 August from 9.00am until 12.00pm at 165 Railway Pde. Mt Lawley.
Devonshire teas, plants, books, toys, clothing and bargain items are available. All are welcome!

Australian Church Women WA Fellowship Day 2026
Join Australian Church Women WA for their annual Fellowship Day on Friday 7 August starting at 10.15am for a 10.30am start at Maylands-Mt Lawley Uniting Church, 165 Railway Pde, Maylands. The theme is 'He will not let your foot slip (Psalm 121:3)' Guest speakers from Uniting WA will share about current services for people experiencing homelessness. A retiring collection will be taken up for their work, or donations of new sport socks would be most welcome. During the service a collection will be taken for the Winifred Kiek Memorial Scholarship Trust. After the service, please join us for a light lunch and fellowship. Expression of Interest - Pilbara Patrol Bush Chaplain
Expressions of interest are invited from Ministers of the Word, Deacons, Pastors or people willing to Pastors, to fill this vacant placement within the Synod of Western Australia. The Pilbara Patrol Bush Chaplaincy is an outreach of the Uniting Church in the north of Western Australia, funded by Frontier Services. The aim of the role is to offer emotional, physical and spiritual care and support to people living in this this remote area.
