Justice Hive GatheringThe next Social Justice Commission - Justice Hive gathering is on Saturday 18 October. At this gathering of the Justice Hive a group from Kalamunda Uniting Church will share about the Five Leaf Eco Awards, which they recently achieved – read about it here. Discussion will follow focusing on ways to engage and encourage congregations in issues of social justice. People are encouraged to attend in person if able. Busy Bee @ BKIThe Covenanting Commission invites Uniting Church WA community to participate in a Busy Bee on Saturday 18 October at Beananging Kwuurt Institute (BKI). Volunteers are needed to help clear rubbish off the site and place in skip bins for removal. This will assist in the development of the site as a Healing Centre for Stolen Generations survivors and their families run by Yokai and BKI. Date - Saturday 18 October 2025

Uniting Aid Thanksgiving Service and Annual General MeetingYou are warmly invited to attend the Uniting Aid Thanksgiving Service and Annual Public Meeting held in conjunction with a Thanksgiving Service, on Sunday, 9 November 2025, at All Saints Floreat Uniting Church to hear of their services to help the disadvantaged people living within the City of Stirling. This special occasion provides an opportunity to give thanks for God’s blessings, celebrate our dedicated volunteers, and hear updates on Uniting Aid’s ongoing mission to support those experiencing hardship in our community. Important Notice on behalf of the Synod Standing Committee At a special meeting held last Thursday, the Synod Standing Committee gave priority attention to the imminent change in the position of General Secretary. With the conclusion of Rev Dr Andrew Williams in the role on 31 October, regulations give the Synod Standing Committee responsibility to appoint a person to the vacancy to fulfil constitutional requirements. The Synod Standing Committee determined to appoint David Beards as General Secretary for the period 1 to 30
November 2025. David will serve in this role as a temporary appointment. The Synod Standing Committee is in final stages of a proposal regarding the longer term appointment to the position of General Secretary after 1 December 2025, and will consider the proposal at the Standing Committee's ordinary meeting on 20 October 2025. Admission of Rev Roy Surjanegara
All are welcome to a worship service to celebrate and officially admit Rev Roy Surjanegara into the Uniting Church in Australia. The Service of Admission will be held at 10.00am on Sunday 19 October at GKI Uniting Church in Mosman Park. Roy came from the Gereja Kristen Indonesia and has been a minister in placement with the GKI Congregation in Perth since September 2018.
