I am delighted to share with you news of our recent awards success and that we are also shortlisted for two categories at the UK Housing Awards. I am proud of the pace and range of initiatives introduced since 2020, so this is a great recognition and celebration of the huge contribution of our staff and our residents. Looking ahead to 2022 we will continue to modernise how we deliver our services. This year has seen the refresh of our HQ office to better support a hybrid way of working for staff. 2022 will see us implementing a new housing system and delivering improvements across our services. These will be informed by the 2021 STAR survey and our new customer feedback by Rant & Rave. We will also be completing work to improve our understanding of our homes and data so we can plan our energy efficiency investment programmes. We are also planning some net zero carbon pilot projects- so watch out for updates in next year's newsletters. Best wishes, Tracy Tracy Allison, Chief Executive, West Kent tracy.allison@wkha.org.uk, 01732 749415 Award recognition We saw success at the Tpas Awards where won the Outstanding Tenant Communication award for the work on our domestic abuse policy review. Our unique development in Faversham, Oare Lakes, on the site of a former gunpowder factory, has won Best Large Development at the First Time Buyer Awards 2021. Finally, we’re shortlisted for two UK Housing awards for Digital Landlord of the Year and for Best External Campaign First scrutiny panel review National restrictions didn’t stop our scrutiny panels work. Not only was the panel established during lockdown, they have successfully completed their first review, of our employment and training service, entirely virtually! New ways of working Our staff left the offices in March 2020, assuming they would return in a few weeks. Over a year and a half later, how things have changed! We’re continuing to embrace new ways of working and have loved seeing staff reconnect as we welcomed them back to newly refurbished office. Working towards net zero Neil Diddams shared with the Kent Housing Group our work underway to improve our understanding of our homes and data, plan our energy efficiency investment programmes and deliver net zero carbon pilot projects. These pilot projects will involve our residents so we can understand their needs and views throughout our net zero planning. Your partner newsletterWe'll send this newsletter three times a year.
