National Search: 1988 Chevrolet Camaro

I am looking for a 1988 Camaro I purchased new but had to sell when my company transferred me overseas. I would like to locate this car, and if possible, buy it from the current owner. The last record of the title is in Pennsylvania.

I feel it is likely being used as a racecar considering its current age. I will pay the first person that locates this car and provides me with a picture of the VIN number, a few pictures of the current condition of the car, and the contact information of the current owner $500. The VIN number is 1G1FP21F4JL149816. Regardless of the condition of the car, I will come take a look at it.

The car was delivered with a white exterior and black interior, though it may have been repainted for racing. It came with a 305 engine with fuel injection, a 5-speed transmission and disc brakes. The body is a coupe, i.e. no removable roof panels or sunroof, etc..

I received a tip that my car actually may now be a race car and may have a paint scheme like the one in the [above] picture. This information may help some who remembers a race car with paint like or similar to this.

SCCA’s Solo Events Board is Making Rules Inquiries Simpler

APR 10, 2025 — Competition rules do a fantastic job of offering consistency for all involved. Rulesets allow drivers and organizers access to the same documentation stating which cars are legal, what modifications are allowed, how events are to be run, and more. Only, SCCA’s rules are constantly changing and improving because sometimes adjustments or clarifications are needed. The problem is, the current letter-writing system isn’t the best at resolving all varieties of requests, as letters vary from classing needs and allowance adjustments to a simple clarification about what a rule’s meaning truly is.

This is something the SEB is actively working to improve on – and soon.

What You Need to Know About ’25 Solo Nats Run Days and Registration

APR 15, 2025 — It’s only April and we’ve already got the Solo Nats on our mind. Don’t blame us, though, blame adulting! With the Sept. 1-5, 2025, Tire Rack SCCA® Solo® National Championships less than five months away (!!!), we know you’re itching to submit work vacation request forms and dig into travel logistics – all the stuff responsible grownups love to do. Fortunately, we’ve got just enough info available for you to do exactly that.

While we can’t yet tell you the exact time of day your class will be running at the 2025 Solo Nationals, we do know which days most classes will be hitting the concrete at Lincoln Airpark in Lincoln, NE, during that first week of September. We can also unveil the dates and times for the two registration tiers (that’s right, just two this year), plus we can keep you abreast of a few other key dates.

Much of SCCA’s 80-Plus Years of Success Can be Attributed to Female Leaders

MAR 31, 2025 — If you've been an SCCA® member for any length of time, you have surely noticed that there are a tremendous number of people working in the background to produce every event, every series, and every Regional and National championship. Truth is, many of the people who keep the Club’s Regions and the National organization going have been women – and while you might not know all their names, you've certainly benefitted from their work.

While no list of women contributing to SCCA can ever be complete, the list that follows of numerous SCCA Hall of Fame members is intended to give you an idea of the contributions that have been made.

I Was One of SCCA’s First Track Night in America Coaches and Soon Realized the Program Would Change Everything

APR 14, 2025 — I was asked to help with Track Night in America after three years of instructing with the SCCA Starting Line school. Heyward Wagner brought me on board specifically to help with Track Night’s Novice program, which had a radical new approach: motorsports for recreation with no in-car instructors. This was common in Europe at the time, but unheard of in the U.S.

We went to Atlanta Motorsports Park for the first event in 2015; Heyward Wagner, Jon Krolewicz, Teddie Alexandrova, several others, and myself were there to operate the first event. We flew into Atlanta the night prior to the first event and met in the hotel lobby the morning of the event where Heyward shared the following: "It's taken everything I've got to make this program happen; I kinda know what we're going to do, but I don't really know what we're gonna do."
