Click here Join us for the collaborationWednesday 2nd AugustWelcome to our monthly SUCCESS ECHO online meeting to provide peer-to-peer and expert support to multi-sectorial teams answering the WHO call to scale up cervical cancer prevention in the Indo-Pacific region.This month’s meeting is on Wednesday the 2nd of August, 5:00-5:45pm Melbourne time (UTC+10), focusing on the topic of Treatment.Presentations by Carol Kartika Naidu & Belinda ChanCarol Kartika Naidu Carol is a third-year PhD candidate at Griffith University, having previously completed a Bachelors in Health Science and a Masters in Medical Research. She is currently researching the barriers to early cancer detection in women in the Fiji Islands. Her ultimate objective is to apply the knowledge gained from her research toward developing multi-disciplinary interventions within healthcare settings, aimed at meeting the diverse healthcare needs of the Pacific Region's population. Belinda Chan Belinda is the CEO of the Fiji Cancer Society, having been involved with the organisation since 2015. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology and Public Administration, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology from the University of the South Pacific. Throughout her time at the Fiji Cancer Society, she has led campaigns to increase cancer education, promote better health, and provide support to patients. By participating in research, she hopes to improve strategies and interventions for fighting cancer in Fiji Cervical Cancer Care in FijiCarol and Belinda will present relevant epidemiological statistics, and explore the existing policies pertaining to cervical cancer in Fiji. Current treatment and palliative care practices in Fiji will be examined, along with the challenges associated with cervical cancer care. The Fiji Cancer Society plays an integral role in controlling and treating cervical cancer in Fiji; this role will be discussed, as well as the future perspectives and initiatives of the organisation.
