Milk vat insulation tool is the new coolAlmost 1,000 dairy farmers have taken advantage of EECA’s new online milk vat insulation tool since its launch at the beginning of March. The tool allows farmers to calculate how insulating their milk vat can help them save on energy costs. For many, vat insulation is a no-brainer. New milk chilling regulations, being phased in from August, will see many farmers having to upgrade their refrigeration systems. In some cases implementing measures such as vat insulation at a cost of between $1,850 and $3,750 may avoid the cost of installing additional cooling capacity at around $30,000.
