POOLS, SPLASH PARK CLOSING MONDAY

It's the final weekend to enjoy our outdoor pools and splash park, with lifeguards putting their whistles away on Monday 14 March.

Outdoor pools in Broadford, Seymour and Tallarook will be open all long weekend from 12pm to 6pm each day - if the forecast temperature by the Bureau of Meteorology is 26 degrees or higher.

Our splash park in Wallan will open from 10am to 8pm, regardless of the temperature, except in the case of extreme storms or high winds.

Entry is free.

VACANCY FILLED Countback results declared
 

David Lowe will fill the extraordinary Councillor vacancy in Mitchell Shire’s South Ward after the Victorian Electoral Commission declared the results yesterday after a countback.

David Lowe will be officially sworn in on Tuesday 15 March.

There are some changes to Council's operating hours for the Labour Day Public Holiday on Monday 14 March.

Some services will be closed, some will have reduced hours, while other services, including kerbside collections, remain open as normal.

You can enjoy a family day out in Wallan at the Community Bank® Adventure Playground, a day of cycling on the Great Victorian Rail Trail from Tallarook, a glass of locally made wine in Tooborac, or enjoy the serenity sitting on the banks of the Goulburn River in Seymour.

Looking for more ideas for visiting family and friends? Visit our Discover Mitchell website, or drop in and see the team at our Visitor Information Centre (VIC) in Seymour.

The VIC has just reopened after a long closure due to COVID, and we're so excited to be back welcoming visitors to our wonderful region.

The centre is open from 10am to 4pm on Thursday to Sunday each week, and the team can provide a range of advice and recommendations no matter what style of travel you like.

The next Council meeting will be the Community Questions and Hearings Committee meeting at 7pm on Tuesday 15 March.

This meeting will be livestreamed and can be viewed on our website.
