Welcome to the second August edition of the Salamanca Market stallholder news Hi everyone, We have some more information to share with you this month so welcome to our second newsletter. In this edition, you will find information about potential stamp duty refunds for licensed stallholders, grant information for wine and cider producers, new forms for booking stall sites and leave absences and we also extend a warm welcome to our new team member, Henry. This month, we also say farewell to our valued team member, Taryn Townsend. During her time with City of Hobart, Taryn has made a significant contribution to the market across many projects and improvements, and was a key part of the work with public health to get the market back up and running during Covid. Stamp Duty - retrospective investigations The Department of State Revenue has advised that the Commissioner has commenced an investigation of certain transfers of Salamanca Market stall licences where the transaction occurred after 1 July 2008. Following the investigation refunds will be issued where appropriate. Any enquiries by stallholders can be directed to the State Revenue Office on (03) 6166 4400 (option 4, option 1), or email dutyhelp@treasury.tas.gov.au Above. A beautiful bag design from Boutique de Cashmere Wine tourism and cellar door grants Applications for the fifth round of the Wine Tourism and Cellar Door Grants program are now open to wine and cider producers. The program provides funding of up to $100,000 to wineries and cellar door operators who grow and promote agri-tourism, largely in regional Australia. Summer / Winter site changes Our 'summer' market will commence on 30 September. For all our summer/ winter site movers, please save the date! If you have your stall set up buy a third party, be sure to let them know the site you will be trading in to avoid confusion. Above. Summer hats on display. Welcome to Henry The Salamanca Market team would like to welcome Henry Fagg. Henry is already a well-known part of the City of Hobart team and has joined us in a stallholder coordinator role. He is currently learning all the mechanics of preparing for the market, alongside Thea and Rob.
