In support of National Farm-to-School Month, Slow Food Phoenix is hosting "Feeding the Future: School Lunch Inspired Bites & Beverages". The event will include some of Phoenix's most influential chefs who will be serving a special dinner that is fresh, local, and within the budget of the current National School Lunch Program.
Feeding the Future is a new initiative under the umbrella of Slow Food Phoenix that consists of a grassroots group of chefs, restaurateurs, and community food advocates that work with students, parents, educators, and the community to assist schools in rethinking relationships with food.
Proceeds from the event go to support the efforts to help all students grow to be
healthy, having been given the knowledge and freedom to be nourished, ready to learn and poised for academic and social success.
