Thousands of Students Inspired at #GoHealth Careers Expo

Over 1,800 students from across Southeast Queensland attended the 2025 #GoHealth Careers Expo, sponsored by Queensland Government and coordinated by CheckUP's Health Gateway team.

Held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, the event featured 60+ exhibitors and hands-on experiences showcasing diverse health careers.

Students connected with professionals across hospitals, universities, and training providers.

2025 TAFE Queensland Health and Nursing Product Industry Conference

The Industry Skills and Jobs Advisor for Health and the Workforce General Manager provided an insight into the skills and workforce that is required to meet the current and predicted health and community service trends in Queensland.

During the panel and presentation, they shared opportunities, current policy and projects that they encouraged the audience of professionals, educators and employers to engage to ensure the sector has rigorous discussion and viewpoints for continued holistic service provision.

On the Road Again

The Industry and Workforce team continue to actively connect with organisations across the state. We recently completed our morning tea roadshows visiting Mt Isa, Gladstone and Gympie.

Information was shared about workforce planning assistance tools, designed to help small businesses across the Health, Community Services, and First Nations Health and Social Assistance sectors thrive with the support of Industry Workforce Advisors.

NDIS Business Connect shared how this program can help businesses navigate the NDIS and being prepared future developments. Importantly, the voice of providers is heard to strengthen advocacy messaging.

This is a great resource for job seekers navigating the career landscape, employment providers, and career advisors as it provides an easy-to-read overview of the Australian labour market. Here are two key findings:

  • 90% of employment growth over the next 10 years will require post-secondary training and education
