OPENING SOON: Monica Sjöö The Great Cosmic Mother
Consider the relationship between art, spirituality and politics as you explore the works of artist, activist, writer and eco-feminist Monica Sjöö.
Tracing the artist’s deep commitment to gender and environmental justice, our new exhibition showcases Sjöö’s large-scale paintings created in response to the wide-ranging feminist and environmental campaigns in which she was involved. Sjöö’s artworks were a pioneering form of environmental activism and anticipated today's debates about the climate emergency.

Divine Schism Presents: Bell Lungs & Milkweed A night of live music to celebrate the opening of Monica Sjöö: The Great Cosmic Mother. Join us for lush vocal harmonies, pop ballads, and faux lost ethnographic field recordings of Bell Lungs, with support from Milkweed. Friday 17 November, 8-10pm. Tickets £7. |
Monica Sjöö: Exhibition TourExplore themes of gender, eco-feminism, matriarchy and social equities in Sjöö's works with curator Amy Budd and Annie Johnston, the chief archivist and manager of the Monica Sjöö Estate. Saturday 18 November, 2-3pm. Free, booking essential. |
