OPENING SOON: Monica Sjöö The Great Cosmic Mother
Consider the relationship between art, spirituality and politics as you explore the works of artist, activist, writer and eco-feminist Monica Sjöö. Tracing the artist’s deep commitment to gender and environmental justice, our new exhibition showcases Sjöö’s large-scale paintings created in response to the wide-ranging feminist and environmental campaigns in which she was involved. Sjöö’s artworks were a pioneering form of
environmental activism and anticipated today's debates about the climate emergency. 18 November 2023 - 25 February 2024. Tickets £6-£12
An evening of art and music to celebrate our new opening, as well as an opportunity to explore the artworks, archival documents and personal artefacts for free, before the exhibition opens to the public the next day. Friday 17 November, 6:30-10pm. Free, booking essential.
