Free Pregnancy Tests
Free pregnancy testing is available at all Lawndale Christian Health Center locations to support you when you need answers. Tests are offered on a walk-in basis or by appointment. Get to Know Our Providers
Freda Ukeka, PMHNP
Freda Ukeka, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, brings over a decade of experience and a strong passion for mental health care to Lawndale Christian Health Center. After relocating from Seattle to Chicago, she felt called to serve individuals and families who need compassionate and accessible behavioral health support. Freda focuses on building trust and creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where patients feel comfortable sharing their concerns. Freda mentioned, “I want patients to know that we are working together and that their voice matters". She believes in educating and empowering patients so they can take an active role in their mental health journey. Freda is inspired by Lawndale’s mission to care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit— through faith-centered, community-based care.
Freda says, "My goal is for patients to feel heard, supported, and respected at every visit.”

2025 Annual Report: Our Year in Review
This year’s Annual Report is packed with moments that matter from delivering over 196,000 clinical visits to expanding our Mobile Health Team’s reach into shelters, we’ve deepened our commitment to those most in need. Patients like Maria Ramirez, who turned her diagnosis into leadership, remind us that healing goes beyond medicine. With the launch of Epic, our new health record system, providers are spending more time face-to-face with patients.

Free Christmas Eve Dinner at GTC
Join us at Green Tomato Café for a Community Christmas Eve Dinner on December 24th from 1–4pm. This event is open to our entire community, and everyone is welcome to enjoy a warm, free meal in a space of care. Children will also receive a complimentary toy as we celebrate the season together. We look forward to sharing this special time with our neighbors and loved ones!
Toy donations are welcome through December 23rd at Green Tomato Café and the Lawndale Christian Fitness Center. As a thank you, donors will receive a free one-month membership to LCFC or a $10 coupon for their next visit to Green Tomato Café.
