As announced at the 2022 Tourism Summit, TIANS and Tourism Nova Scotia are working jointly on the development of a new Tourism Sector Strategic Plan. An online portal has been set up for feedback and input into the plan. We encourage you to have your say. The 2023 Nova Scotia Workforce Insights Survey is currently open and we encourage you to take part in this important tourism sector feedback opportunity. Responses will support programs and resources to assist operators in securing a more adaptable workforce and profitable operations. In partnership with ACOA, TIANS is providing support and guidance to elevate your business in a multitude of ways. The program is designed to support the long-term rebuilding and sustainability of the sector. By connecting business owners/operators with qualified mentors, operators are able to receive professional expertise in a targeted business topic of their choice. This includes structured feedback, insight and recommendations around improvement and innovation of tourism businesses. Tourism businesses from all 5 sectors, (Accommodation, Food & Beverage, Recreation and Entertainment, Transportation, and Travel Services) operating in any part of Nova Scotia are eligible to apply for the program. Rebuilding Through Quality 2023 Tourism Town HallYou are invited to take part in the Tourism Town Hall, taking place on Tuesday, February 21st at The Lord Nelson Hotel in Halifax from 9a.m. - 5p.m. There will be Provincial Best Practice Sessions, National Updates, Q&A Session networking breaks, lunch and a reception to follow. Similar events are being held across the country over the coming months and programming is being finalized for the Nova Scotia event. Serve it Up Culinary Program - Call for EmployersDo You Have a Red Seal Cook or Baker on Staff - Want to Become a Serve it Up EmployerThis year, the Serve It Up Culinary Career Exploration Program has seen a record number of student applicants. Over the past seven years youth engagement has grown exponentially and participant numbers continue to climb. We have had the privilege of matching students with great employers throughout Nova Scotia.
