Trek 4 Timor 2026

Trek 4 Timor Perth 2026

The Uniting Church WA’s International Partnerships & Development Commission (IPDC) invites you to join them for Trek 4 Timor 2026 on Saturday 16 May starting at 1.00pm!

The event raises money for our Synod partner Lafaek Diak who operate a mobile health clinic in Timor Leste. The clinic operates out of the back of a 4WD, and works its way around the remote villages of East Timor delivering vital medical aid and services, health promotion education and care, immunisations and clinics.

Starting and ending at Saint Stephen’s Uniting Church in Applecross, there will be two walk options for people to choose – 3.4km and 6.8km – finishing the day with afternoon refreshments at the church!

Registrations are now open!
You can register to walk and fundraise or simply support this great cause with a donation. You could also consider sponsoring a friend or member of your congregation!

The following workshops are available for Safe Church Training:

29 April 9.00am to 2.00pm - Safe Church Awareness & Refresher at Bay Life Uniting Church, Busselton.

9 May 9.00am to 2.00pm - Safe Church Awareness at South Mandurah Uniting Church.

All ministers, pastors, church leaders, volunteers, members of congregations and those involved in community services are welcome and urged to attend. Refreshments will be provided.

Social Justice Officer

Work With Us - Social Justice Officer

The Uniting Church WA is seeking a part-time Social Justice Officer to support policy research, advocacy, campaigns and community engagement. 

This role is ideal for a thoughtful researcher and skilled communicator committed to justice, compassion and social change who wants their work to have real impact.

This is a part-time maximum term position (0.3fte, 1.5 days per week negotiable with possibility of extension) and will be based at the Uniting Church Centre in Perth.

The next Social Justice Commission - Justice Hive gathering is on Saturday 2 May.

The Hive is an opportunity for people interested and engaged in social justice issues to connect, support and encourage each other, and to potentially contribute to resourcing the wider church in your area of interest.

Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy Core Training

DRCN Core Training

The 2026 WA Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy Network (DRCN) Core Training is taking place from 23 to 25 June at the Boulevard Centre, Floreat.

The Council of Churches WA, in partnership with the WA Synod of the Uniting Church, is offering 
the following training sessions:

  • Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy training: 23-24 June 2026
  • Refresher Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy: 24 June 2026
  • Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Induction: 25 June 2026

These opportunities are open to ministry agents and lay people who have qualifications and experience in the caring professions, enabling them to assist in the recovery of communities following disasters and emergencies within Western Australia.
