No images? Click here A word from StephI have been having a lot of conversations with members about this new world we are entering into, and what lies ahead. The post Delta lockdown in many parts of the country is raising a variety of challenges and these look different for individuals and communities. Re-entry can bring up many things, whether that be social anxiety or Covid anxiety. The uncertainty and desire to see loved ones and over committing, or feeling obliged to see loved ones but not being ready. It is a challenging time for workplaces, navigating the range of experiences employees have had or are having. Many are eager to return to the office, many are not. And the overall uncertainty of the future, and fear of lockdowns occurring again are impacting peoples mental health. I refer back to the wonderful Dr Sadhbh Joyce who presented at our August Member Meeting and wrote the most recent think piece on self compassion. Always attempt to listen to your gut about where you are at and what you truly need for self care. And Mental Health Month has come to an end. However, we know the ongoing promotion of mental health in the workplace continues all year around. A special shout out to Legal Aid NSW who won the Mental Health Matters, Workplace Wellbeing Award for their Mentally Healthy Workplaces Framework. Check out their Facebook Live where we discussed the framework here. Our final member meeting for 2021 is on December 7 and will be virtual hopefully for the last time. As always, reach out to me directly if you want to learn about how you can engage more with the WayAhead Workplaces network.
