INNOVATION PROGRAMS & FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

 
 

I-CORPS AT NIH

I-Corps at NIH is an entrepreneurship training program specifically designed for companies that received Small Business Innovation Research or Small Business Technology Transfer funding from NIH and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). During this 8-week, hands-on program, you’ll learn how to focus your business plan and get the tools to bring your treatment to the patients who need it most. And there's no cost to you - a $55,000 supplement covers program costs.

WINTER 2025 UW NSF I-CORPS CUSTOMER DISCOVERY PROGRAM

The I-Corps Customer Discovery Program offers customer discovery training and provides connections to mentors, both of which are critical to the success of any business. You will also learn how to effectively communicate your idea to to create a one minute elevator pitch and present your findings with customer discovery.

I-CREATE ACCELERATOR + PRIZE CHALLENGE

The I-CREATE Accelerator + Prize Challenge provides a unique, free opportunity for medical device innovators worldwide to accelerate their market journey through a 6-month virtual program. Participants gain access to monthly interactive webinars on crucial aspects of medical device development, personalized one-on-one mentorship with industry experts for refining and scaling their products, and a virtual showcase event. At the program's conclusion, selected companies will present their innovations to investors, BARDA representatives, and other government entities, competing for a prize of up to $50,000.

NIH SMALL BUSINESS TRANSITION GRANT FOR NEW ENTREPRENEURS

This is an NIH SBIR/STTR grant opportunity that supports entrepreneurial training in addition to providing project funding to startups and small businesses. This Notice of Funding Opportunity supports the transition of early-career researchers into entrepreneurial roles. Eligibility of the contact PD/PI is limited to scientists, engineers, and health professionals, including certain late-stage students, postdoctoral fellows or associates, and clinicians, who are new to research entrepreneurship and have not independently led significant research programs.
