NJ Office of Export Promotion Awards $2.77 Million to Exporters

The New Jersey Office of Export Promotion is helping the state’s small exporters sell into global markets through New Jersey State Trade Expansion Program (NJ STEP). NJ STEP has awarded $2.77 million to qualifying New Jersey companies for export activities ranging from translating product catalogs into a foreign language to exhibiting at an export trade show. The office also works with New Jersey companies to determine if they should export and to identify available supporting resources.

Virtual Program for Minority-Owned Food Businesses Launching

Cultivate Small Business, co-sponsored by the Latin American Economic Association, Inc. (LAEDA) and Santander Bank, is a 12-week, fully virtual program offered completely free to women, people of color and immigrants building food-related businesses in New Jersey. The program runs from April-June 2022 and provides industry-specific education, networks and mentoring, and the opportunity to apply for capital grants. Anthony Martinez, Small Business Advocate at the New Jersey Business Action Center, is among the program’s featured speakers.

LAEDA Offers First Steps/Best Practices Virtual Seminar for Entrepreneurs

On Thursday, January 13 from 5-7 p.m., the Latin American Economic Association, Inc. (LAEDA) will share the fundamentals of starting and operating a small business during a free virtual session, which will be presented in Spanish. Training topics include accounting, business financing, human resources and management, and more. NJBAC Small Business Advocate, Anthony Martinez will present an overview of services and resources avaliable to entrepreneurs.
