October Grants Newsletter Welcome to my October Grants newsletter with the latest open grant opportunities across all levels of Government and the private sector for the Shortland electorate. I encourage you to look through and visit the websites listed for information and eligibility criteria. Keep an eye out for the 2024-25 Strong and Resilient Communities Activity Grants to assist volunteer involving organisations across Australia. Small volunteer involving organisations will be able to apply for grants ($10,000 – $20,000) for one-off, time limited projects that build volunteer management capability, and help the organisation to support the social and economic participation of vulnerable and disadvantaged people.

Artists’ Benevolent Fund Amount: $2,000

Australian Heritage Grants Amount: $25,000 - $400,000
Closing Date: 25 October 2025
Purpose: To protect and promote the National Heritage Values of National Heritage List places through strengthened recognition, management, conservation and public engagement. Examples funding can be used for: - Salaries for staff working on the project,
- Contractor costs or expert advice
- Communication and promotional costs
- Materials and equipment hire/purchase
- Costs incurred obtaining planning, environmental or other regulatory approvals during the project period.

Long Tan Bursary Amount: $12,000

Purpose: The Long Tan Bursary helps eligible children and grandchildren of Vietnam veterans pay for their tertiary education. Purpose: To provide up to 30,000 families with no internet at home free NBN for 12 months. To be eligible, a family must: - Have a child living at home that is enrolled in an Australian school.

Simpson Prize Reward: 8 winners will travel to an overseas destination for an extensive commemorative study tour culminating in Anzac Day ceremonies at that location.

Strengthening Social Cohesion Grants Amount: $12.25 million
Closing Date: Undisclosed
Purpose: To support Australian Palestinian, Muslim and other communities affected by the Hamas-Israel conflict. The first round of funding will provide $12.25 million for affected Palestinian, Muslim and other communities, including: - $7 million for national programs addressing social cohesion impacts felt across communities in Australia;
- $1.25 million to expand and enhance existing social cohesion projects; and
- $4 million for community-led grass roots programs.

Tertiary Health Study Subsidies Amount: $12,000

Purpose: Are you a student enrolled in a health care degree? You can now apply for up to $12,000 in subsidies to support you in your studies!
