The Summit Is Here!

In just a few short days from today, the 2020 Higher Education Climate Leadership Summit begins!

We know many of you reading this, will be joining us in Atlanta for the Summit, and we are excited to have you.

We all know that the higher education sector plays a vital role in climate action, and not just on your campus, or in your local community, but globally.  From initiating and being a part of climate policy conversations, educating the next generation of leaders about climate change, taking a lead in reducing carbon emissions, creating actual climate solutions, and everything in between.

Coinciding with that, we are excited to gather with all of you at the Summit to focus on what the higher education sector's role has been, is, and will be going forward when it comes to climate change, and to create solutions to continue accelerating and moving forward.

The Summit will also lend itself the opportunity for networking, taking campus tours, participating in various workshops and coinciding events, and much more.

If you have not done so lately, we encourage you to visit the Summit website, as much has been added to it in the past few weeks, including the details of the daily Summit agenda and the names of everyone who has registered.

The Time Is Now, and we look forward to seeing you in Atlanta!

MONTHLY MERIT

Community Resilience Building at Tufts University

On January 31st, Second Nature staff participated in a Community Resilience Building Workshop hosted by Tufts University – Health Sciences Campus, a member of the Climate Leadership Network and a signatory to the Climate Commitment.

Over the course of the day, a diverse group of stakeholders from across the Health Sciences Campus and surrounding Boston neighborhood met to identify important vulnerabilities and strengths in the community. The group then proposed concrete actions to address key climate-related hazards and ways to prioritize activities that pave the way for a more resilient Tufts.

Many thanks to Tufts for involving us in this workshop and their ongoing commitment to integrate emissions mitigation with climate resilience!
