JOTTINGS OF
A PERSONAL JEWELLERMARCH 2026 NEWSLETTER
Hello! Another busy month mainly handling the scrapping of yet more gold and silver because of the crazily high prices that continue! I also had an interesting “first” experience, watching a safe being drilled to get it open. The task took four hours after the safe-crackers couldn’t open it from the combination. The contents made it worthwhile for the clients, so an interesting morning was had!
Another successful ABC interview in the wee hours, this time with Paul Verhoeven. Calls came in from all over Australia and covered all sorts of things including lab grown Diamonds, green gold, scrapping silver and cameos. We discussed Paul’s Casio digital watch given to him by his Father, a stolen gold sovereign case... and so it went on. The interview can be heard here.
My planned talks for the year are starting up again. On Wednesday 1st April at the RACV I will be talking about the collection of President and Mrs Ronald Reagan. Jewels of course feature, as well as some of their lovely and slightly more unusual possessions. For tickets please book here.
