Nowata County Ribbon Cuttings
Guy Engineering and Nowata County held ribbon cuttings on August 17 to celebrate the completion of the newly constructed Bridge #82 over Panther Creek and Bridge #78 over Double Creek. The bridges are in Nowata County District #1, led by Commissioner Burke LaRue. Click the buttons on the left of each picture to view more about these bridges.
GUY Sponsor of Cherokee National Holiday
GUY is honored to be a sponsor of the Cherokee National Holiday, taking place Sept 2-5. While several events have had to be cancelled due to the recent rise in COVID numbers, we hope you will explore the virtual activities that include an art show, a quilt show, and even a virtual race. In addition, the fireworks show and drive-in movie nights will still be held in-person.
The Cherokee National Holiday commemorates the signing of the 1839 Cherokee Nation Constitution. In addition, this year the celebration honors the Cherokee syllabary, the Cherokee written language created by Sequoyah 200 years ago.
