But to play at your very best, there's a new physiotherapy tool to help..Golf is a very social sport. Whether you are with friends, family or business associates, you are most likely playing the game with other people. This allows you to foster relationships with many different types of people, even ones that you wouldn't normally spend time with. Being able to build and maintain these relationships is very important for your psychological well being (Source: https://www.slideshare.net/Ronny_Powell/health-benefits-of-golf). To play at your very best though, you also need to be physically healthy for the task. This month we focus on how to play better, and get better, through golf specific physiotherapy with our very own John, now certified to offer this treatment. WIN!This month, we have an easy competition for you to WIN the perfect Christmas gift for that golfer in your family. Simply book before December, and receive a FREE Bio Impedance Analysis! Your whole-body system works best when in balance, with strength and flexibility matching each other. John has just completed his Golf Specific Certification with the Titleist Performance Institute in the USA. In the case of golf, the results of your assessment will be directly related to a golf swing characteristic. We call this the body swing connection. There are many different ways to swing a golf club, and hit a golf ball. We can assess the physical abilities (or limitations) you have and then correct them (as necessary), which will help you play better golf and be less likely to get injured. How does this work? The testing takes about 30-minutes performing various physical tests (standing, sitting and lying). Each test relates to a body part and its direct relevance to the golf swing. A restriction in movement or a reduction in strength may cause you to swing the golf club in a certain way, and the swing characteristic you have may lead to an injury, or, cause inferior performance. The results of the assessment are tabulated and then the corrective exercises or stretches are demonstrated. We record you on video on your phone, so you know exactly what to do and how to do it. That takes another 30-minutes. Even if you don't play golf, but would like to focus on sports-specific body health, what John learnt is relatable to all sports - so you can take advantage of this treatment also! Interested?
