One of the ‘hot’ topics popping up at the summit was the value of ‘grow our own’ workforce initiatives, developing the skills of local people to move into critical roles. This approach depends on strong partnerships between industry and education, and concerted efforts to improve the responsiveness of training and education and develop clear pathways into key sectors.
