Hello!

Welcome to my August newsletter. July was a busy and interesting month including selling a lot of old gold for a client who needed advice on her late Mother’s jewels. I love this type of appointment as you just never know what one might uncover or be able to realise to put a smile on the owners face!

I had another early morning interview with ABC Radio and Trevor Chappell in July and the volume of questions and texts amazes me. We must be a country of insomniacs, though of course some calls were from Northern Territory and Western Australia so it wasn’t as early as Melbourne at 2:45-3:40am! We talked about Diamonds, Antique jewellery, Opal doublets, cameos… the list went on and on. Eventually after almost 50 minutes I was allowed to go home to bed!

My next interview will be on Wednesday 20th August at 2:40am, so be sure to tune in!

Upcoming Events

For those of you interested in knowing where I will be talking next and what talks, please refer to my website where I list all upcoming events on the Talks page. This will always keep you up to date with where you will find Circa AD Jewels next.

On the 28th of August I will be giving my talk ‘Diana, Princess of Wales’ at the RACV. As is so often the case since first delivering this talk around 8 years ago, there are a number of updates, so it is well worth coming along. For example, who would have thought there is a now direct connection between the Princess and Kim Kardashian!

For those of you who haven’t been before, please remember doors open at 10.00am and the talk starts at 10.30am. Book your tickets today.

On Friday 12th of September, Circa AD Jewels will be taking part in a fabulous Spring fashion parade. The soirée will be held at RACV Melbourne and features designers Wendy Scully Millinery, Perri Cutten, Cazinc the Label, Your Secret Closet, Vivienna Lorikeet and stylist Alicia Marshall. Enjoy a luxurious high tea while models take to the runway to exhibit Spring fashions.

It is guaranteed to be an exciting event so make sure you book your tickets today!

New Pieces

For some new jewels in my collection, look at this lovely black and white South Sea pearl necklace. The lustre of the pearls is wonderful and the piece would be a great jewel for the upcoming racing season.

For some inspiration to give your old pearls a new lease of life, why not recreate this necklace and bracelet (that can also be worn as one complete necklace) with matching earrings using Akoya pearls and graduating Tanzanite beads.
