JOTTINGS OF
A PERSONAL JEWELLER

NOVEMBER 2025 NEWSLETTER

Hello!

Welcome to my November newsletter, arriving on the day of the Melbourne Cup—the race that stops the nation! I hope you all back a winner and enjoy the festivities.

Another busy month has flown by, and I’m now turning my attention to preparing this year’s online Christmas catalogue. It will feature a selection of stunning jewels I’ve discovered throughout the year, including a recent favourite: a fabulous button-shaped, multi-coloured Tahitian pearl necklace.

For fans of The Devil Wears Prada, this piece might catch your eye—it’s a slightly smaller version of the iconic necklace often worn by Miranda Priestly. Stay tuned for more details soon…

Upcoming Talk

For those of you wanting to get ideas for men’s jewellery, this is a talk not to be missed! From signet rings to walking sticks, Albert chains to posey button holders as worn by Hercule Poirot, Suave & Sophisticated is well worth coming to. The RACV City Club will also provide a lovely morning tea! For tickets, please click the link below.

In the Media

I was interviewed twice this last month, once on ABC Radio National where Tegan Taylor asked me to talk about the rather gruesome subject of body parts used in jewellery! Listen to the interview here.

My regular early-morning chat with Trevor Chappell was filled with fascinating questions and lively discussion. This time, our topic was earrings—but the conversation quickly expanded as listeners called and texted in with photos and stories. We covered everything from earrings to cameos, gold to rubies, and even red tourmalines and jewellery remodelling. I absolutely loved it! If you have a moment, you can listen to the full interview here.

Latest Jewel in my Collection

A "Gem" quality Tahitian pearl necklace

For those of you who have followed me over the years, you would know how I always love to have at least one row of multi-coloured Tahitian pearls. This particular necklace is what’s termed as “gem quality”. See further details here.

Finally, it was Coco Chanel who once said:
“I dream in jewellery."
Maybe you should too!
