Kentucky APSE Conference 2024: Engage. Include. Amplify.September 9th - 10th, Lexington (in-person)
This is a statewide conference focusing on learning and providing quality supports to people with disabilities seeking to find and maintain employment. It will offer 8 hours of training, the annual Meet & Greet, and our KY APSE Awards Lunch. This is a great chance to gather with Employment Specialists, VR Counselors, and others interested in increasing employment options from across Kentucky! Continuing Education Hours- 8 hours will count toward the required hours to provide SE or E&R for OVR.

soon! 2024 Call for KY APSE Awards – submit a nomination by August 12th at 12 pm ET. - Nancy Hall Supported Employment Advocacy Award was established to honor a
Rehabilitation Professional who has demonstrated exceptional determination and motivated individuals with the most significant disabilities to obtain their maximum vocational potential through Supported Employment.
- Sam Serraglio Community Employment Award is given to a person who fosters the ideas of self-determination, individual excellence, and independence for individuals with disabilities to successfully obtain community employment. The candidate demonstrates an ability to advocate for people with disabilities while building partnerships with the business community, service provider, the family/provider, and the individual.
- Willie Byrd Legislative Award is given to a person who has supported and promoted the employment of people with significant disabilities through legislation and/or legislative efforts. Consideration for this award should be given to a legislator and/or individuals who have worked effectively within the legislative and advocacy realm to ensure that people with significant disabilities have the opportunity to work.
- The Jim Chesser Award for Advocacy was established in memory of Jim Chesser, a long-time self-advocate and friend of KY APSE. The winner shall reflect the ideas of advocating for the full inclusion of people with disabilities, including employment. Preference
may be given to persons who experience disability, but anyone who furthers the goal of inclusion will be considered.

Meet & Greet!Monday evening will be our annual Meet & Greet at 5:30 pm ET. This is a great time to network, relax, and meet others in our field. We will have appetizers and a cash bar. For anyone interested, we will also host Trivia Night! Bring a team, join a team, or just watch & cheer.
