Responding to the Overdose Crisis in BC

On April 14, 2016, Dr. Perry Kendall, the Provincial Health Officer, declared a public health emergency under the Public Health Act as a result of a dramatic increase in the number of opioid-related overdose deaths across British Columbia since the beginning of 2016. Because PAN’s member agencies and partners have been on the frontlines of responding to, reversing, and managing grief and loss related to overdoses, substantial time was spent discussing the opioid crisis and national drug policy at the PAN Fall Conference in October 2016.

 

What's Happening with Manitoba's Collective Impact Network

We have applied for PHAC funding to support the work of the Network. Awaiting confirmation of the funding

We were successful in being awarded Collective Impact Workshop 2 Support from the McConnell Foundation: Innoweave Initiative

Moving Beyond Piloting HIV POCT 

A team co-led by Dr. Jacqueline Gahagan (Dalhousie University), and Carla Pindera (Nine Circles Community Health Centre), and supported by REACH 2.0, successfully secured Catalyst funding from CIHR to determine the number of POCT pilot projects completed in Canada since 2005 (the approval date of INSTI), the level of success, and the number of HIV POCT pilots that have successfully scaled-up to fully implemented HIV POCT programs.

 

Being Pragmatic in Getting to the 90-90-90 Targets in Canada

The OHTN, REACH 2.0, in collaboration with the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research, and CIHR Living with HIV Innovation Team, are hosting a lunch symposium at CAHR this Friday, April 7 from 12:30-14:00.
