Good Sammy Container Recycling

Container Recycling with Good Sammy

Container recycling with Good Sammy creates employment opportunities for Western Australians with disability.

Did you know that Good Sammy are an authorised refund point for Containers for Change?  For Good Sammy it's not just recycling; it’s a triple win - you get 10c back per container, they get 7c to support their mission, and WA gets to reduce our landfill!

To find out more and for Good Sammy container deposit locations go to the Good Sammy website.

The Uniting Church Centre has two Good Sammy container recycling bins! Next time you visit us feel welcome to drop your 10c drink containers in them to help support the work of our Agency.

  • Call for Papers - Uniting Church National History Society 2025 Conference - The Uniting Church National History Society will hold its next National Conference 'The Church as a Prophetic Voice in Australian Society - Past, Present and Future' from 3 to 5 October 2025. The Society invites 20-minute papers addressing the conference theme. • Election of the next Chair of Presbytery -  After four years, Alison Xamon has completed two consecutive terms as chairperson of the Presbytery of WA and according to the Presbytery of WA Rules (P4) is unable to nominate for a third term. As such the Presbytery Standing Committee has convened a Chair of Presbytery Nominating Committee. The committee is chaired by Rev Steve Francis and includes as members, Rev Luke Williams, and Heather Hamblin. All members of Presbytery are asked to prayerfully discern if there is someone with the appropriate gifts and skills and some knowledge of the structures of the Uniting Church who may be called to this ministry. If you feel you may know just the right person, please nominate them (with their permission) to Rev Steve Francis, steve.francis@wa.uca.org.au, so that our committee can meet with them and they can discern together. Please pray for Alison and our Presbytery at this time.

  • Social Justice Commission State Election Resources - As part of their resourcing role, every election year the Social Justice Commission seeks to inform the Uniting Church WA community of issues they see as important to consider when voting.
