The Governor signed the bill this morning thus completing he SFY 2022-23 State Budget 11 days late and substantially over the Governor’s Executive Budget request of $216 billion. The final Budget is a record $220 billion which is $4 billion more than the Governor requested and $8 billion more than last year. The budget leans heavily on $81 billion in federal funds primarily because of pandemic assistance. As expected, a number of policy (Article VII) bills were “intentionally omitted” as indicated in particular by the Assembly. Many of these policy measures will likely be advanced in the 19 Legislative Days remaining following the Legislature’s return from Spring Break on April 25th. ESFPA has prepared a full summary, which can be viewed here, but our work is far from done. WE NEED YOUR VOICE - Our OneClickPolitics Campaigns are about to begin. In addition to input on a few post-budget bills which need our attention, ESFPA will also be developing campaign submissions for comments on the Climate Action Council draft Scoping Plan. Please be sure to watch for and complete these campaigns As its name implies, our ONECLICK campaigns are little more than that, one click. Although every letter is able to be personalized and edited, they are also "good to go as is". It is very simple to impact our laws and regulations. PLEASE, when you see an advocacy campaign come through your email, take a moment to participate.
