JOTTINGS OF
A PERSONAL JEWELLERMAY 2026 NEWSLETTER
Hello! Welcome to my May newsletter. Can you believe it’s May already?! June is just around the corner and, for those of you who don’t know, so is the NGV Winter Series Exhibition, featuring fabulous and historic jewels by Cartier. With this in mind, the May newsletter highlights
a couple of talks that I am giving with Kenneth Park to coincide with this wonderful exhibition. For those of you who are fans of the RACV, Kenneth and I will be talking on the morning of Thursday 4th June. Bookings for this event can be made here.
I have also been introduced to the Melbourne City Library at 253 Flinders Lane (opposite Brunetti). This is now to be home to what I call The Talks Club. Here we can host up to 60 people in the spacious Majorca room on the first floor. At the entrance to the library there is an excellent cafe and across the road the wonderful Brunetti, where you can buy your own morning tea/coffee and lunch afterwards if you so desire. As you are responsible for your own refreshments, this has allowed Kenneth and I in our first series of talks to offer tickets for $30.00 for our "double acts”. To find out what talks are happening and when over the next few months, go to the Events page on my website.
You may remember from my last newsletter that I will be giving my new "President & Mrs Reagan" talk at one of my favourite eateries, Bedggood & Co. in East Melbourne. Proceeds from the event are going to Save the Children. It promises to be a lovely evening, all in aid of a great cause. Find out more details here.
Another early morning interview with Trevor Chappell last month which lasted for 50 minutes! It is amazing the number of incredibly varied questions I am asked. We touched on costume jewellery, imitation Diamonds, gold used for teeth, resizings and repairs, and more. Listen to the interview below.

We have added a few more pieces to the online collection. They include this stunning Estate multi-strand Coral necklace on an 18 carat yellow gold clasp, and a lovely Lavender Amethyst and Diamond pendant. Plus—to show it’s not all about price—a very stylish sterling silver leaf brooch.
I think that covers it for this month. Enjoy the Cartier exhibition when it arrives and I look forward to hearing from you should you have any enquiries about jewels!
Warmly,
