On the Santa Sabina Del Monte campus we will continue to offer a variety of co-curricular experiences for our students before, during and after school throughout the year.
Below is the list of Co-curricular activities for Term 2 2025 for you to discuss with your child/children.
Please note that each activity has a maximum number of availability and bookings are available on a first-in basis. Please note that at the conclusion of the sessions parents are to enter
the College via the OOSH gate and collect their child from the Piazza/Warami area.
SANTA SABINA COLLEGE MUSIC PROGRAM
Prep – Year 4
Santa Sabina College offers an exciting range of instruments for Private Tuition to our Del Monte students. Registrations from Term 1 continue into Term 2, as the program runs by semester. The instruments are:

SANTA SABINA COLLEGE RECREATIONAL DANCE
Kindergarten – Year 4
Santa Sabina College is excited to be running the Term 2 Recreational Dance Program with more classes on offer in 2025. Recreational dance involves any students in from Kindergarten to Year 10 who would love to take part in learning dance in a fun and engaging environment. There is no level of dance required for the recreational dance program and we encourage students who would like to try dance to be involved!
Please note that this program will only operate based on interest levels and minimum class numbers required. *This is a separate club to the SSC Rep Dance program and therefore does not require students to compete on weekends or be part of any performances*.
The program will allow students to develop their dance skills throughout the term. The cost of the recreational dance program is
$100 per student, for the term of one class. E.g A Kindergarten student who does Jazz/Hip Hop and Ballet will pay $200 as these are two classes for the term.

We are very excited about this program and cannot wait for it to begin in Term 2. Once registered, parents will be informed via email about what students should wear and where the classes will be held prior to the first lesson.

CHESS
Grades: Kindergarten – Year 4
Chess Club caters to players of all levels (Beginners to Advanced). Each week the Chess Club runs a lesson to teach a new skill that is appropriate to the level of the children attending. Beginners will learn how to play and all the rules of chess, progressing to learn some basic checkmates and strategies later on. Intermediate and Advanced players will learn about opening theories, tactics, strategies and endgames improving their game and expanding the calculation skills and foresight that they have already been developing. Children will also be given time to play friendly and competitive games against each other and to solve simulated chess puzzles.

ROBOTHINK
Grades: Prep – Year 4
Nurturing geniuses around the world! RoboThink is a leading STEM, coding, robotics and engineering program nurturing geniuses across Australia to thousands of students each day. Our exciting themed STEM programs develop core STEM skills that students apply to school subjects and their future careers. Kids learn valuable 21st century skills such as engineering, robotics and coding at RoboThink. Our curriculum, educational robotics kits and coding software is designed for kids from five years of age.

SPEECH AND DRAMA
Grades: Kindergarten to Year 4
Hennessy Speech and Drama Program is scheduled to run once a week for a duration of 30 minutes per session. Students are timetabled throughout the school day on a rotating timetable. During these sessions, students will have the opportunity to focus on developing and honing their individual skills in speech and communication.
The program is structured to align with the curriculum, ensuring that students not only benefit from the creative aspects of speech and drama but also gain valuable skills relevant to their academic and personal growth.
Throughout each term students will gain skills in:
Reading and reciting poetry so they develop a deeper understanding of poetry and enhance their language skills.
Reading aloud so they strengthen vocabulary, pronunciation, and reading fluency and expression.
Improvisation so they develop spontaneity and quick thinking. Students develop active listening skills and how to effectively collaborate in a group setting.
Eisteddfod preparation in Terms 1 and 2 (for interested students)

SYDNEY PERFORMANCE ACADEMY (SPA)
Prep – Year 4
The Acting Up Program allows students the opportunity to realise their own creative potential, whilst developing unique skills that will carry into every aspect of their lives.
Designed specifically for primary school students, the courses in the Acting Up program provide learning opportunities that are integral to turning the children of today into the leaders of tomorrow. With an emphasis on fun, we provide a secure and supportive environment that allows students to develop the foundations to build invaluable life skills through drama.
A reminder that our SPA drama program is an opt-in system, there is no automatic roll over for student enrolments. If you want your child to attend our program in Term 2, you must enrol them for Term 2.

MOTIV8 SPORTS
Prep – Year 4
Students from Prep to Year 4 will have the opportunity to participate in Motiv8sports. Our Sports and Activities Clinics are designed to motiv8, encourage, build resilience and inspire children to be successful. We focus on effort and attitude, rather than ability. Over the course of the program, your child will experience many of our trademark hybrid (non-contact) sports, enjoy our creative challenges and games, along with many other awesome activities. Every child NEW to Motiv8sports will receive a FREE Motiv8sports jersey and hat.

JUNIOR ENGINEERS – SCRATCH
Year 1 – Year 4
Scratch is a friendly, fun platform that engages kids quickly and builds their core understanding of key coding concepts such as loops, conditionals, variables, lists, operators and custom blocks. It’s a great course to both start and continue your coding journey. Our programs are a brilliant way for your child to start developing future-fit STEM skills that are beyond what they’re taught in school.
Your kids will love our hands-on Scratch classes using drag-and-drop coding. Scratch is a friendly, fun platform that engages kids quickly and builds their core understanding of key coding concepts.

Art on Canvas for Kids aims to unleash children’s creativity and allow them to express themselves. Students from Kindergarten to Year 4 will have the opportunity to tap into their creativity while being guided by art-loving staff.

123 DANCE WITH ME
Prep
123 Dance with Me is an Australian dance program created for children aged two to six. This program teaches children the fundamentals of dance in a fun, creative and engaging environment. Children will enhance their coordination, musicality and imagination whilst also developing a greater sense of independence, concentration and confidence.
The 123 Dance with Me syllabus is designed to explore various genres of dance, rhythm and movement in a one x 60-minute class per week. Students will learn safe dance practice and foundational technique, enhance gross and fine motor skills and explore their creativity in safe, encouraging and inspiring classes.

LITTLE BOOMERS BASKETBALL
Prep – Year 4
The Little Boomers program was developed by Sports and Exercise Scientists from the University of Technology Sydney. The program is designed for complete beginners, as well as for children who already know how to play Basketball and will be offered to students from Kindergarten to Year 4.
The program helps develop more challenging gross-motor movements through shooting drills and other skills such as a lay-up. Every week, facilitators implement the program 'CAPTAINS' during a basketball game, for those who display good sportsmanship.

AUSTRALIAN MARTIAL ARTS
Prep – Year 4
Australian Martial Arts Academy has been teaching martial arts in Sydney for over 40 years. They have taught thousands of primary school children who love learning not only the sport of Taekwondo but also the benefits of focus, respect, confidence and the practical skills of stranger awareness and bully busting.
Australian Martial Arts sessions include elements of fitness, technique, application and context (how to and how not use it safely), strength and flexibility drills, meditation and listening exercises.
