National Reconciliation Week Resources
National Reconciliation Week is from 27 May to 3 June. This year the theme is 'Now More Than Ever'.
The Justice and International Mission Cluster of the Uniting Church Synod of Victoria & Tasmania have prepared a resource for Uniting Church congregations wishing to including reference to National Reconciliation Week in their service or event during that week.
World Environment Day Prayer and Resources
World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated every year on 5 June. This year the theme is ‘accelerating land restoration, drought resilience & desertification’. This prayer is offered by Rev Gordon Scantlebury for your worship or personal prayer time leading up to World Environment Day, or at a time that suits your congregation.

Being an Intercultural ChurchThe Presbytery of WA are holding a workshop on Being an Intercultural Church, on Saturday 18 May from 10.00am to 12.00pm at Star Street Uniting Church, Carlisle. The workshop will be an opportunity for facilitated discussion about what it means to be an intercultural church in our congregations and Presbytery. |

Out of Silence: Reflections on Gender Based Violence (UCA) - As anger and heartbreak continues to rise in Australia over the epidemic of violence against women, with thousands protesting in recent weeks, the Assembly will be bringing you a new weekly series of reflections on gender-based violence from diverse perspectives, which will be published each week in National Update.
Daily Reflections for Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (CCWA) - Council of Churches WA are sharing a video reflection each day during the week of prayer - 12 to 19 May on their Facebook page. The resources are provided by the World Council of Churches.
Religious discrimination back on the agenda in 2024 (UCA) - Uniting Church President Rev Sharon Hollis has released a Pastoral Statement ahead of a renewed debate on religious discrimination. As a tool for Uniting Church members who may be seeking to engage in this issue locally over the coming months, the article also explores the current situation regarding religious discrimination laws, and the Uniting Church position and engagement on the issues so far.
Charities urge government to urgently increase income support (UnitingCare) - "Seven of Australia’s largest food and emergency relief providers have called on the Government to accept the overwhelming evidence of hardship in Australia and urgently increase the rate of JobSeeker and other working age payments."
Creating change for women in the workplace (Juniper) - "With Juniper’s workforce comprising more than 85 per cent women, being part of a cohort of forward-thinking Western Australian organisations to champion change is a no-brainer."
RSCM Choir Camp - the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) Choir Camp is a non-residential three day holiday program open to all children aged 8-18 years who love singing. Participants develop their skills as they sing in a four-part choir and make friends in a fun and encouraging environment. No previous choir experience is required. The Choir Camp runs from 3 to 5 July, 8:30am-4:30pm (all ages), 8:30am-8:00pm (13-18yrs) at St Patrick's Anglican Church Hall, 731 Beaufort St, Mt Lawley. Cost is $140 day, $170 evening (earlybird prices until 31st May), full fee after May 31st is $160pp day, $190pp evening. The event is fully catered. Click on the link for information and bookings.
National Sorry Day 2024 - There will be a Sorry Day gathering at Moort-ak Waandiny/Wellington Square on Sunday 26 May from 11.00am to 1.30pm. The event will include the screening of the documentary 'Genocide in the Wildflower State'.
