WA Synod 2025 - Holy Land

Synod 2025 - Peace and Justice in Holy Land

Uniting Church WA encourages non-violent, anti-genocide action in support of peace and justice for the people of Palestine.

The decisions were made at the 49th Annual meeting of the Synod of WA which took place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September 2025.
You can read more about the Synod resolution and prayer vigil that followed on our website here.

An aspect of the resolution was to encourage Uniting Church WA members to engage in continuing non-violent, anti-genocide action, including on the International Day of Peace, Sunday 21 September, during the World Week for Peace in Palestine and Israel (20 - 26 September).
Resources to commemorate the World Week for Peace in Palestine and Israel in your church and community from the World Council of Churches are available for download here.

UnitingWorld Spring Appeal

UnitingWorld - Standing with our Neighbours in West Papua

West Papua is home to some of the world’s richest ecosystems: ancient rainforests, sprawling mangrove swamps, and coral reefs teeming with life. For generations, Indigenous communities have depended on them for food, culture, and survival. But today, climate change is disrupting that balance. One in five children is malnourished, and West Papua remains the poorest province in Indonesia.

Our UCA partner, the Evangelical Christian Church in the Land of Papua, is responding with a bold, faith-led plan: helping families grow food and earn an income in ways that also protect the lands and seas they call home. With support from UnitingWorld and the wider Uniting Church, their vision can impact whole communities for generations to come. You can stand with them.

You can read more about UnitingWorld's nature based solutions to poverty and hunger in West Papua in the Revive article Working With Nature Against Poverty
