GCCA Releases 2020 Annual Report

Over the past year, the Coronavirus pandemic put members of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) in the spotlight. When tested like never before, the global cold chain remained strong, nimble, and flexible. Across the world, members of our four core partner organizations showcased how critical each link of the cold chain industry is, ensuring the quality and safety of perishable products around the world. The 2020 GCCA Annual Report provides an overview of some of the challenges and successes that this year brought. When COVID-19 changed every aspect of our reality, GCCA adapted and provided essential advocacy, education, services, and programs for this essential industry.

GCCA Submits Comments to U.S. Department of Agriculture Regarding COVID Stimulus Package and American Rescue Plan

On Monday, March 29, GCCA submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in response to their solicitation for stakeholder input regarding the possible development of new grants and loans that could provide critical support to our industry. GCCA’s comments build on recent meetings with the White House and USDA and outline how grants and loans could assist the cold chain in managing the impacts of the pandemic. Biden Administration's Infrastructure Plan Funded by Corporate Tax Changes

On Wednesday, March 31, President Biden unveiled a $2.25 trillion U.S. infrastructure plan paid for by tax hikes on businesses. The four-part, eight-year plan dedicates $620 billion for transportation, including a doubling in federal funding for public transit. It would provide $650 billion for initiatives tied to improving quality of life at home, like clean water and high-speed broadband. There’s $580 billion for strengthening American manufacturing and $400 billion to address improved care for the elderly and people with disabilities. Read more HERE.

GCCA Launches Advocacy Center

GCCA has launched a new Advocacy Center as part of the association’s expanded advocacy efforts. This new platform will enable GCCA members to engage with their elected officials to promote and protect the industry.  

All GCCA members are encouraged to SUBSCRIBE to the new Advocacy Center program to receive the latest on policy developments and grassroots campaigns. 

Advocacy Fund Established to Support Enhanced Services

GCCA has established a new strategic initiative, the Advocacy Fund, to expand our advocacy efforts on behalf of our industry. This Advocacy Fund will support our increased efforts to promote and protect the cold chain. Members are urged to consider making financial contributions to support these expanded advocacy efforts.
