Guidance for Bring Your Child to Work Day

As a reminder, Bring your Child to Work Day is April 24, 2025.

While the University permits parents to bring their children to work that day at the department's discretion, there are some rules that must be followed for safety and compliance.

Recently, the University updated our procedures for sponsored activities involving children under the age of 18. If your department is sponsoring activities for employees’ children on this day, and the parent/guardian will not be with the child for all activities, the department must register that activity in advance with the University. Any adults who have direct contact with the children must obtain Child Protection Clearances prior to the event, which may have an associated cost.

The easiest way to remain compliant with our updated procedures without taking additional actions is to ensure that parents/guardians remain with their child at all times.

More information about registering an activity and obtaining clearances can be found on the Human Resources Camps and Programs Involving Children web page.
