It is wonderful to reflect on the many highlights across our academic learning areas as well as our co-curricular opportunities provided by the College. These community and personal highlights are the result of the combined hard work of Staff, Parents and Students. It was a pleasure to celebrate achievement yesterday with our families with the presentation of a wide range of awards. Thank you to all our families who attended our Awards assembly. Reports and timetables are now available through SEQTA. I encourage you to take the opportunity to review them with your child. I would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support this year. As we look forward to an exciting 2022, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic safe and relaxing holiday. Mr Mark Ashby Chaplain DevotionHere we are! It’s the last newsletter for the year and I have wanted these fortnightly articles to continually focus on a line in the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:10 “Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Christmas is upon us!! This wonderful time of the year means holidays and gatherings, events and celebrations, sad and happy memories, and gifts. To land our year of newsletter articles, I want to help us have eyes see through all the packaging and claim the gift inside. What is Christmas? Christmas is when the Kingdom of God fully arrived! I have said it many times in our year of newsletters articles. The Kingdom of God, that one thing we are all to seek above any other things. The Kingdom of God, that prayer we are to pray that calls “Your Kingdom Come”. The Kingdom of God, where we are to rest our hope completely. After many years, the Kingdom of God has become the only sure thing in my life. What is Christmas? What is the Kingdom of God? The focus and meaning of Christmas and the Kingdom of God, are the same thing, Jesus Christ. The perfect personality of Jesus Christ defines the Kingdom of God. When you and I are praying for the “Kingdom (of God) to come” this Christmas, we are praying that we all meet Him, His perfect personality, and we become so moved and inspired by Him that we “seek the Kingdom (Him) first”. We are praying that we daily choose to live out the perfect personality of Jesus Christ in our daily lives. To finish the year let me use a list of biblical words to describe the perfect personality of Jesus Christ for us to personally enjoy Him and to live out to others. Jesus is love, He is joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, gentle, faithful, and long-suffering. When you meet Jesus Christ, when you live in the Kingdom of God, you become all of these with Him, and through you, you bring Him, the Kingdom of God, to others. Have a great Christmas, praying for you all to be safe, and to above all, to enjoy the Kingdom of God. Kennedy NewsYear 7-10 Awards AssemblyIt was wonderful to come together to celebrate the academic and community achievements of our Year 7-10 students yesterday morning. During our Awards Assembly, we took the time to acknowledge our Student Councillors and House Captains for their contribution this year. We also enjoyed a video reflection of the years and our College Chaplain, Mr Peter Chase, shared a beautiful devotion. He encouraged our students and parents to look past the 'things' and see Jesus and the meaning of Christmas as we enjoy the festive season. Congratulations to all students who received awards showed excellence and commitment throughout this year. Click here for photos. Parent Volunteer Afternoon TeaIt was a lovely afternoon with our parent volunteers yesterday. We celebrated and honoured their contribution, expertise, and time given to the College in 2021. We were delighted to have more than 100 parents volunteer at the College this year across a variety of activities and events. We once again would like to honour and thank you for your time and contribution to enhancing the College experience. If you would like to be part of this vibrant community of volunteers, we encourage you to join the P&F Association AGM Meeting on Wednesday 9 February 2022 in the Staff Lounge.
