Minimum EPIC invoice exchange rates set for 2025-2026You may remember that in 2024-2025 in recognition of the uncertain economic environment, EPIC set minimum exchange rates (in advance) that the NZ$ conversions of the foreign currency elements of EPIC member invoices were to be based on. As a reminder, (and is also outlined in The annual invoicing process section of EPIC – a guide for member libraries) EPIC’s standard practice when invoicing EPIC members for EPIC subscription fees is to advertise the subscription options that vendors offer through EPIC in the currencies that the EPIC vendors invoice EPIC in. EPIC then invoices EPIC members for their total subscription costs in NZ$ (plus GST) based on the exchange rates that applied at the time EPIC pays the consolidated invoices to vendors. As the economic uncertainty continues, EPIC will do the same again for the upcoming subscription year. The minimum exchange rates for the period 1 July 2025- 30 June 2026 will be based on the exchange rates that were applied in both 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. They are as follows:
If, however, EPIC pays vendor invoices at a more favourable exchange rate than those listed above, the more favourable rates will be applied against EPIC member invoice. As with last year, I hope that by setting these minimum rates, it will make budgeting for your 2025-2026 EPIC subscriptions a bit easier and will provide you with more certainty of your overall costs.
