Three Minute Thesis

The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a national competition that challenges Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students to effectively explain their research to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes. The aim is to cultivate their academic, presentation, and research communication skills while celebrating the exciting research conducted by HDR students across the country.

All participants qualify for 5 CaRST points.

Visualise Your Thesis

REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN! 
The Visualise Your Thesis competition, challenges HDRs to present their research in a sixty second visual display. First prize wins $1000 and will go on to compete in the International online competition.

All successful submissions also qualify for 5 CaRST points.

Introduction to searching for systematic reviews

In fact many of the things you learned for these presentations you need to unlearn for 3MT. Preparing for your PhD oral examination

Are you curious about the requirements of the PhD oral examination process? If you are required to undertake an oral examination or considering opting in, you may be interested to know that a new MyUni course is available to help you prepare. The course will take you about an hour to complete, and provides an overview of the process, roles and responsibilities, and tips for preparing well. You can also record the course for 1 credit in Domain B for CaRST. Enrol here.

Introduction to systematic searching for non-health subjects webinar

Systematic reviews have their origins in the discipline of Health and Medical Sciences, but are increasingly being carried out in other areas. There are also other types of systematic literature reviews which make use of systematic search techniques. Join the Liaison Librarians to learn more about developing an appropriate search strategy for this kind of review. Thursday 23 May 2024, 1:00pm - 2:00pm. Register here.

 

CaRST Tips

Do you struggle to remember when you have a CaRST workshop? Did you know that CaRST Online has a calendar feature?

To help keep track of your CaRST Online bookings, try using the calendar feature. You can even integrate it with your preferred calendar tool, including Outlook and Google Calendar. This requires a one-time set up, after which, all CaRST events you book will be automatically added to you calendar.
 
To set up the calendar integration, login to CaRST Online and navigate to the training section under Do -> Calendar Settings -> Set up calendar sharing and follow the instructions.
