Even though I hope you will never have to use this service, I would like to introduce the University’s new Integrity Unit, the first point of contact for all students and staff who want to report unwanted behaviour including but not limited to sexual misconduct (assault & harassment), bullying, discrimination and harassment, fraud, corruption and maladministration. The Integrity Unit has a great website with lots of information and FAQs. You can make a report via an online reporting form, via email, or just call, which you can do anonymously. If you are unsure whether to make a report or not, or if you just want to talk to someone about the process, you can contact the Integrity Unit for advice. Additionally, the Safer Campus Community website has also been updated and can be found here. This website includes heaps of information and FAQs around emergency contacts, online and in-person training on topics such as first responder, bystanders as well as diversity and inclusion. Of course, you can also talk to your supervisor or anyone within the AGRS at any time if you experience anything uncomfortable. Take Care and stay safe. Doreen Doreen Krumbiegel Director, Adelaide Graduate Research School Tip of the Month Did you know that you don’t have to wait for the deadline to complete your milestones? Milestones can be completed earlier if you are ready and ideally should be commenced as soon as you receive the reminder email indicating that it is due. This is particularly important if you know that your supervisor or PGC is going to be unavailable or taking leave around the time that your milestone is due or may have limited availability to attend a meeting. All of the online and other forms for milestones are on the AGRS website and your milestone deadlines are viewable through MyAdelaide. If you have a milestone coming up we strongly recommend that you make plans with our supervisors to ensure that it is completed on time. Funded Research Internship Opportunity for eligible ABLE and HMS PhD Students The Adelaide Graduate Research School has partnered with Royal Life Saving South Australia (SA) to create an internship for a PhD student working in public health, or disability policy and advocacy. Royal Life Saving SA has recently opened a swimming pool in the Northeastern suburbs of Adelaide. The pool now services over 90 participants on the Autism Spectrum on a weekly basis. This internship has been established to support Royal Life Saving SA in understanding the role of water safety programs in the health and well-being of children and adolescents diagnosed with ASD and their families. The internship will involve interstate travel. Learn more about this internship here. Postgraduate Scholarship OpportunitiesThe Adelaide Graduate Research School maintains a searchable database of available scholarship opportunities (both full scholarships and supplementary scholarships), funded by both the University of Adelaide and external funding bodies. While the majority of available scholarships are awarded as part of the standard admission and scholarship rounds for domestic and international students, some are awarded at different times throughout the year, and may have a separate application process. Visit the Postgraduate Scholarships website regularly for up to date information on current scholarship opportunities. CaRST points on offer for new HDR copyright courseThe University Library has developed a new CaRST-accredited course covering all things copyright for higher-degree-by-research students.
