PGR Graduation July 2024

The graduation of our Postgraduate Researchers was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their extraordinary successes, along with their friends, family, and supervisory teams. It is important to recognise the unique support PGR provide each other throughout their study, and being able to bring all graduating PGR together in one ceremony has been something that so many people across Research and YourSU, have championed for over the last few years. It was a joy and a privilege to be able to be part of the celebrations, and on behalf of everybody in the Doctoral and Researcher College, the wider Research Community and Coventry University Group, huge congratulations to everybody who graduated and we wish you great success in whatever happens next.

Carolyn Wynne, Doctoral and Researcher College Director

Congratulations to all PGR graduates from CAMC.

Although we have in the past seen CAMC graduates with their corresponding College, it was lovely to see all the doctoral graduates together at the ceremony this year!

Professor Sheena Gardner, PGR Lead, CAMC

Touchy Family, Friends and Supervisors Celebration!

It's tempting to think that the PhD thesis is the place you get to display every single thing you’ve read. To peacock-like spread out a significant dazzle of texts. Look how much I’ve done. See how well I can summarise it all. Just imagine how good my notes are and how impressive my (Endnote, Zotero etc) must be.

But that would be a mistake.

Doctoral research is all about knowledge transformation. The PhDer does not read in order to regurgitate, but rather, to do something with their reading. " (https://patthomson.net/2024/02/20/a-thesis-is-not-just-a-display/)

We wish you all the success in your future endeavours!
