April 2026 The FREE annual hard waste collection is making its way to your house!Eligible households will receive a brochure in the mail two weeks prior to your Annual Hard Waste Collection week. Collections will begin from 4 May and take place over an 8-week period. Each property will be allocated a specific collection week based on your address. To check your collection week, look out for a brochure in your letterbox or search “MyAddress” Collection details:
Size limits apply: As a general rule, your hard waste pile must not exceed 2m long x 1m high x 1m wide. Full details and examples will be included in your brochure. Before you throw it out: Please consider donating items that are still in workable condition to a charity or a local reuse group before sending them to landfill. The Frankston Regional Recycling and Recovery Centre (FRRRC) accepts a wide range of waste and recycling materials, with many items accepted free of charge or at low cost. The Centre is open 7 days a week to residents, non-residents and commercial customers. Important safety reminder: Please remove batteries from all items before placing them out. Contact Customer Service on 1300 322 322 New hoist improves access at Pines Forest Aquatic CentreA new accessibility hoist installed at Pines Forest Aquatic Centre is helping more people safely access the water, thanks to a partnership between Rotary Peninsula 2.0 and Peninsula Leisure. Installed in February to maximise the remaining warmer weather, the hoist improves access for people with mobility challenges and supports inclusive participation in aquatic recreation. The project was delivered through a shared investment, with Rotary Peninsula 2.0 contributing funds raised through community fundraising efforts at the Duck Derby as part of the Waterfront Festival, and Peninsula Leisure providing additional funding to complete the installation, alongside the support of Frankston City Council as the facility owner. Engagement We want your feedback on our Youth Action Plan!Council’s is focusing on developing the Youth Action Plan, ensuring our youth services, programs and activities can best-cater to the needs of our 12–24 year-old community. We want to hear from as many young people as we can, but we need your help! Our maternal and child health (MCH) nurses hold dual registration as both registered nurses and midwives, with advanced postgraduate qualifications in maternal and child health. They provide universal support to children and families from birth to school age, through health promotion, prevention, developmental assessments and early intervention. Our immunisation team ensures children, adolescents and families receive timely, safe and evidence-based vaccinations, helping to protect individual health and strengthen community immunity, as part of the National Immunisation Program. We thank all our nurses and midwives for their professionalism, commitment and the vital role they play in supporting healthy children, families and communities across Frankston. Frankston City is making a splash!The Monterey Recycled Water Scheme pipeline is now complete, opening the floodgates to greener sports fields year round! Recycled water will soon begin flowing to Council-managed sports reserves in Frankston North, starting with Monterey Reserve from June, followed by Pat Rollo and Eric Bell reserves. This new supply will help keep our sporting fields healthy while reducing the use of drinking water — a win for local clubs, families and the community budget The system is also supplying recycled water to the National Golf Course – Long Island. The new Community Care Navigation and Advocacy Service is hereAccessCare — City of Kingston’s long established aged care service — has recently been appointed by the Commonwealth Government to deliver selected Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) services to Frankston City residents from 1 July 2026. The move to AccessCare will ensure residents who rely on personal care, domestic assistance, respite care, social support individual (escorted shopping) and home maintenance and modifications continue receiving consistent, reliable support.
