Manager's Message

Are you interested in understanding the range of career options you have as a research degree graduate, and taking control of your career planning? Expressions of interest are now open for the Career Control for Researchers program. This is a fantastic program aimed at supporting you to understand the broad scope of career options open to you, make decisions about your future career, and position you to follow your chosen path. Previous participants have given fantastic feedback on the program, so we’re very pleased to be able to offer more places in 2024. More details on the program are below. Apply now!

Career Control for Researchers program - apply now!

Do you want to know what your career options are, how to make career choices that are right for you and create strategies for pursuing them? Career Control for Researchers will give you the tools, guidance and confidence to take charge of your career direction, determine your own priorities and accelerate your progress. CaRST is pleased to sponsor participation in this program for a limited number of eligible applicants.

What?

  • 8 week program delivered online (1 - 1.5 hours per week)
  • Live, web based discussions with career specialists; and
  • Self-paced modules
  • Eligible for 13 CaRST credits in Domain B

  • In your second year or beyond?
  • Interested in exploring your career options?
  • Committed to taking control of your career plan?

Media Training for Scientists

EndNote for reference management – introduction

This session is designed to provide you with the essential skills for using EndNote effectively in your research and writing. It provides guidance on how to build and organise your EndNote library, export citations in bulk from some popular databases into EndNote (useful for systematic reviews), and using EndNote with Word to insert in-text citations and create a reference list in your document. Register here.

Data Entry and Processing in SPSS


This beginner's hands-on training is designed to familiarise you with the interface and basic data processing functionalities in SPSS. We will examine several “must know” syntax commands that can help streamline data entry and processing. Have you recently attended a discipline or industry-focused Conference, Symposium, Forum or Annual Meeting relevant to your field of study? Did you know that events such as these can be claimed for CaRST credit in Domain B?

You can self-record these activities in your CaRST Record, as Experiential Activity in the category of ‘Conferences and Symposia –Attendance’, and will receive 3 credits per day of attendance. Please provide a program/timetable and booking receipt as evidence.
