Committee for Wyndham: Engaging with Candidates for the Werribee By-Election

Recently, our CEO Leanne had the opportunity to meet with two candidates, Independent Paul Hopper and Labor candidate John Lister, to discuss their visions for the future of the Werribee and Wyndham region.

Paul Hopper, an Independent candidate, shared his deep connections to the area and his focus on both the immediate and future needs of the west. It was interesting to hear about his values and his commitment to addressing the challenges and opportunities facing the region. His vision aligns with the pressing need to plan for the future while focusing on the current requirements of the community.

Leanne also met with Labor candidate John Lister, where they engaged in a thoughtful discussion about the region's opportunities, challenges, and areas of focus. John outlined his priorities and vision for the region if elected, offering a clear plan for the future of Werribee. The by-election for the Werribee seat is scheduled for Saturday, 8 February.

As pre-polling is now underway, the Committee for Wyndham is actively working to engage with all candidates in the race. We are awaiting responses to schedule further meetings with each candidate, as we strive to ensure the needs of our community are well-represented moving forward.

As a non-partisan organisation, the Committee for Wyndham looks forward to working with the future representative of Werribee, regardless of political affiliation, to address the critical issues that impact the region’s growth and prosperity.

Celebrating 15 Years of CDC Victoria’s Community Impact

Leanne Down had the privilege of attending a special event today marking 15 years of CDC Victoria, where the company’s significant contributions to the community were acknowledged. With a strong presence in Wyndham, CDC Victoria continues to connect communities through vital transport services, while fostering a culture of innovation and growth that reflects the spirit of our region.

The event featured inspiring speeches from Jeff Wilson, CEO of CDC Victoria, and Russel Balding, Chairman of ComfortDelGro Australia, who shared insights into the company’s rich history and future vision. We were also joined by Sarah Connolly MP, Lloyd Toffolon, and retiree Paul Jones, who served CDC for over 40 years. Thank you to CDC Victoria for your continued service to the community, and congratulations on this remarkable milestone!
