Click here Meet the new associate dean of Frederick Honors College at Pitt-Greensburg: Dr. Frank Wilson!Frank Wilson, PhD, assistant dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, recently was named the interim associate dean of the Frederick Honors College at Pitt-Greensburg. Wilson’s appointment is the latest development in the partnership established this past spring between Pitt’s Frederick Honors College and the Pitt-Greensburg Honors Program. A profound commitment to improving accessibility to an honors education by the Frederick Honors College, Greensburg honors faculty and support from University leadership at both campuses led to this partnership, which is giving Greensburg students the same access to programming, funding, and honors-specific support as their peers in Oakland. Frederick Honors College to assist with three community-based research projects. Through these projects, you may learn to build software, conduct qualitative studies, analyze and manage data, analyze academic papers, and more. For-credit and paid positions are available. You can help this research go beyond the classroom to directly impact communities. Help incarcerated individuals reenter society, create apps for learning digital literacy, and educate communities about data literacy and civic engagement. Frederick Honors College at the University of Pittsburgh is proud to support the second annual "Envisioning a Just Pittsburgh" initiative curated by FHC’s Artist-in-Residence, Morgan Overton. The Envisioning a Just Pittsburgh initiative aims to bring together a diverse group of emerging and experienced artists who can depict their visions of justice, equality, and community resilience. The call is open to creators working in a wide range of media, including written and spoken word, visual art, performance, fiber art, and digital art. Artists are asked to submit their work by October 20th, 2024. Detailed submission guidelines and a link to the entry form can be found at https://pitt.ly/envision24.
