The Plant Surveillance Network Australasia-Pacific (PSNAP) enables members to communicate about plant pest surveillance. It acts as a coordination point for surveillance professionals and practitioners to strengthen surveillance capacity and capability across Australia, New Zealand and the nearby region. 

 
 
 

National Forest Pest Surveillance webinar 2023

The first PSNAP webinar on Forest Pest Surveillance was held earlier this month. With an array of excellent presenters and 83 attendees, this well received and informative webinar provided an overview of the National Forest Pest Surveillance Program, introduced the MyPestGuide® Reporter App and discussed the importance of expanding forest surveillance.

 
 
 
 

National surveillance partnership to protect Australia’s forests

A new Biosecurity Collaboration Agreement will establish a National Forest Pest Surveillance Program to improve the early detection of exotic forest pests and the likelihood of their eradication.

 
 
 

Annual Diagnostics and Surveillance Workshop (ADSW) 2023

The Annual Surveillance Workshop (ASW) and the Annual Diagnostics Workshop (ADW) are networking events for diagnosticians and surveillance practitioners to come together to share knowledge and learnings.

This year the joint Annual Diagnostics and Surveillance Workshop (ADSW) 2023 will be held in Canberra 9 –11 May.

 
 
 
 

National Surveillance Protocols

The Subcommittee on National Plant Health Surveillance (SNPHS) has endorsed three National Surveillance Protocols (NSPs) to support and enhance ongoing surveillance activities.

A surveillance protocol is a technical reference guide for conducting surveillance on a specific plant pest or group of plant pests. It includes information on surveillance methodology, pest biology, taxonomy, identification and sample processing.
