Throughout the week, we will be offering an array of engaging workshops, insightful talks and interactive training. To find out more, please head to the Learning at work week site. Support for moving quizzes from Moodle to InsperaAll instances of Moodle (Coventry University, CU Group and Coventry University London) will be withdrawn as a ‘live’ service from the end of July 2024. Read-only and download access to historical resources only will be available after the end of July. From the start of semester three in May 2024, no assessment, teaching or learning should take place in any of the instances of Moodle across the Group and all assessments must be transferred to Aula and Inspera – this includes all resit assessments. To support colleagues with the transitioning of any assessment material from Moodle, the guidance and support listed below have been put in place. Getting Started with Inspera Gaining access to Inspera is dependent on attending a mandatory ‘Getting Started with Inspera’ workshop, which will introduce required naming conventions and principles. Register for this event. Learn more about using the software. Transferring quiz questions from Moodle to Inspera Some questions can be transferred from Moodle to Inspera using the Moodle XML format. The question types that can be transferred are multiple-choice, multiple response and essay. For more details visit Importing Questions into Inspera. For support transferring other resources to Aula, please contact the Education Technologists if you experience any difficulties. Jesse Chen, Alam Sheikh, Julie Stewart Congratulations on completing the “External Examiner Development” courseHuge congratulations to the 20 colleagues who have completed the Advance HE, External Examiner training in April, delivered by Peter Harrison and Susan Bray from AEPD. All degrees in the UK have an External Examiner (EE) appointed, to ensure the quality of the award is in line with other UK degrees. The EE is someone who is independent and has the requisite knowledge of both the subject area, expected standards and quality assurance mechanisms. Staff at the Coventry University Group are encouraged to be EEs at other universities to both uphold national standards and support their own personal development, growth and profile. The aim of the course is to enable aspiring, existing or experienced examiners to develop their understanding of the EE role. Upon completion of the pre-course learning, attendance at the 2 half day sessions and a reflective summary those who complete the course will be added to the register of trained EEs by Advance HE, which will be beneficial when applying for EE posts. The course is only run three times a year but if you wish to be added to the “wait list” please contact AEPD@coventry.ac.uk and keep an eye for next dates on the course booking system at https://professionaldevelopment.coventry.ac.uk/.
